The community of Kasilof (pronounced ka-see-loff) has a total population of 505 people and is located on the Kenai Peninsula south of the City of Kenai on the Kasilof River and is on the east side of the Cook Inlet. Kasilof has a total area of 10.6 square miles. Kasilof is a great place to stay when you are visiting the Kenai Peninsula and it offers some of the finest accommodations in all of Alaska. Even though Kasilof is a small community, it has some luxurious lodging. Scattered all throughout Kasilof you can find premier fishing lodges, cabin rentals and bed & breakfasts.

                Kasilof is centrally located on the beautiful Kenai Peninsula. The Kasilof River is a great place to go fishing. It has early runs of king salmon, both natural and hatchery, followed by a growing red and silver salmon run. The Kasilof River and the Kenai River is where you will find some of the best salmon fishing in Alaska. Those that are just looking for a fun time while fishing with the kids will enjoy fishing for rainbow trout in Johnson Lake. The Alaska Fish and Game stock Johnson Lake with rainbows each year.

                The Kenai Peninsula is a must for those looking for a great summer recreation location in Alaska. The Kasilof RV Park is located right in the center of all that is happening. Whether you are a person that enjoys just relaxing in a quiet campground, sightseeing, bird watching, fishing or clamming, there are an endless number of fun things to do that you will wish summer never ended!

                If you want to go sightseeing then you can drive down to Homer and stop in Ninilchik along the way. There is an old Russian Church that is beautiful for those that like to take pictures. You can even watch everybody clam on the beaches of the Cook Inlet or just sit back and enjoy the beautiful mountains across the water. Enjoy watching bears catch salmon when you take an airplane ride to the Katmai National Park or take a ferry over Kachemak Bay to Seldovia.

All of the schools available for your kids are all in the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District. Redoubt Elementary School is a public school that serves grades PK-6. Redoubt Elementary School received a distinguished GreatSchools Rating of 8 out of 10. Soldotna Middle School is a public middle school in the City of Soldotna that serves grades 7-8. Soldotna Middle received a distinguished GreatSchools Rating of 9 out of 10. Skyview High School is a public school that offers classes for grades 9-12. Skyview High received a distinguished GreatSchools Rating of 8 out of 10.
