Types of Flooring and Their Cost in Kenai and Soldotna

When it comes to your Kenai or Soldotna flooring, what do you prefer? Opinions are likely to vary. Some people think that the hardwood flooring will increase your homes worth, while others prefer tile or the more affordable faux versions of laminate or vinyl. Today we’re going to take a look at the different types of flooring and their prices so you can see which one suites you best!

Hardwood Floors: This flooring costs about $3-$8 per square foot and is a difficult on the DIY scale. Many people choose hardwood because of how warm and inviting it makes the room feel. It is able to blend rooms well. Hardwood is great for living areas, but doesn’t go well with places that have a lot of moisture. You need to reseal your hardwood floor atleast every 5-6 years for the best care.

Cork and Bamboo: Cork and Bamboo ranges from $4-$12 per square foot and isn’t too difficult if you’re planning on doing it yourself. Both cork and bamboo seem to be more durable and more environmental friendly than hardwood floors. Cork can be harvested without killing a tree and bamboo is a fast growing plant! Each can be treated to withstand moisture.

Laminate: Ranging from $1-$6 per square foot, laminate flooring is one of the cheapest and is very easy to do yourself. Laminate comes in a variety of different finishes mimicking wood, marble, or even stone. Laminate is very durable and many companies uphold 30-year warranties! Although you can get laminate floors professionally installed, you can pick up interlocking panels to make this a weekend project.

Vinyl: Vinyl is considered to be the most affordable and easiest to install out of all flooring options. It ranges from $0.75 to $4 for vinyl sheets and $1-$8 per square foot for vinyl tiles. Like laminate, vinyl can imitate high end flooring such as hardwood or tile. Vinyl is ideal in bathrooms and kitchens.

Tile: Tile comes in a variety of types including marble, porcelain and ceramic. If it is installed the right way it will look beautiful and should last forever. Tile is able to resist water, stains and can hold up to heavy traffic, making it ideal for laundry rooms, kitchens and bathrooms.
